Chicago Trip

At one of their parks they had this weird looking bean scuplture. It was actually kinda fun. I love the buildings in the reflection.

A weird building - I got to take the architecture cruise down the river while Kent was in meetings.

this was 2 blocks from our hotel.

I thought this building was a church - actually, it is the Tribune building. Can you imagine? A newspaper company in a building like that?

Again - looking out our window. It was a fun trip - we hadn't been there before. We were on the 16th floor, but felt dwarfed with all the huge buildings around us.

A birthday celebration - here and in Chicago

We splurged and took a limo with 7 other people and went to the 95th floor of the John Hancock bldg. to eat. what a view we had from way up there! Our friends are from Montana, Maine, Kansas and Mississippi. (Kent had National Builders meetings)

He got sang to twice that night. After we ate on top of the world, then we went downstairs and next door and had dessert at the Cheesecake Factory.

After eating, we went back to the house to open presents. He got a new hammock!

Kara taught Robert's family a fun, new game - Ninja Destruction. They had alot of fun.

Even little Claire got into the action (even though she wasn't feeling at all well.)

Here we are at Tucano's to celebrate Kent's birthday. You can see the free meal gift card in his pocket. We love that place!

Someone's having a birthday this week.......

Since we will be in Chicago this week for Kents birthday, I wanted to be sure and post before we left and wish him a great 55! He is a great husband, a very good father, and a wonderful Grandpa! He is a loved man! Happy Birthday Honey - I love you!

A year ago today.......

Yes, it was a year ago that we lost our Mother. Although she is in a better place, I still miss her and miss seeing my sibs. Thinking of her today and all of you. Love ya, Wendy
